Even before COVID-19, the prevalence of mental illness was increasing. In response to this alarming trend, behavioral health facilities are being built or renovated to provide the care that’s needed.

One company leading the way is Acadia Healthcare, a large provider of behavioral healthcare services with 21,000 employees across 40 states. KEES is honored to help fulfill their mission of providing a safe and secure environment where patients can receive the care they need.

Project Requirements

One of Acadia’s latest projects is a new, $21MM behavioral health hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. This 65,000 square foot facility will provide 80 beds and a wide range of psychological and detoxification treatments.

For this project, Acadia needed secure access through the walls and ceilings. A total of 139 access panels were required to cover various opening sizes. Each one included a tamper-resistant cylinder lock for security and radiused corners on the door and flange for risk resistance.

Not only did we meet their exact sizing and product requirements, we also met their scheduling needs. As the project progressed, the timing got tighter. In all, five orders were released as each of the new areas became available with turn around times quickening from four weeks to one week.
