May 5, 2020
Ed Zieve, the visionary founder of KEES, Inc. has decided to retire at age 96.
Ed started KEES in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in 1974, after having served as an independent HVAC sales rep for 20 years. The company began with an innovative design to improve air flow in kitchen hoods. It was followed by a revolutionary air mixer design. Over the years, under Ed’s stewardship, KEES grew to be a premier manufacturer of a wide variety of commercial HVAC products.
It was Ed’s passion for innovation and an emphatic emphasis on customer satisfaction that helped the company to grow and prosper. He often says “If you can draw it, we can build it!” This statement sums up his unyielding drive and commitment to satisfying customer requirements, and is at the heart of what KEES stands for today.
Ed served as President for over four decades, and since 2017 has acted in the role of mentor as Bob Norman assumed the role of President in 2017.
Bob earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. After having worked at Chrysler Corporation for 10 years, Bob has been at KEES, Inc. since 1992. He and the entire KEES team benefited greatly from Ed’s deep knowledge, experience, and commitment to quality.
“Over the last 46 years, Ed has built a solid foundation at KEES and his contributions will ensure future success for years to come,” Bob said. Please join us in honoring Ed’s long and outstanding career, and his well-earned retirement.
