MAKE-UP AIR UNIT TYPICAL SPECIFICATIONS


Make-up air unit shall be KEES Model (DFG, IFG, MUA, NTS) for outdoor (indoor) application. Performance shall be as scheduled on the plans.

HOUSING: Unit shall consist of a weatherproof housing constructed of 18 gauge galvanized steel with gasketed access panels utilizing draw-tight tooled fasteners and heavy gauge base frame with lifting lugs. Housing options shall be provided as listed.

BLOWER: The blower shall be forward curved, double width, double inlet with statically and dynamically balanced wheels, precision machined shafts and sealed ball bearings selected for a minimum (L10) life in excess of 100,000 hours at maximum cataloged speeds.

MOTOR AND DRIVES: Motors shall be ODP enclosure mounted on a common base with the fan and shall be internally isolated. Three phase motors 1 HP and larger are to comply with EPACT standards and be inverter rated. Drives are to be adjustable with belt selected for a minimum of 150% of motor horsepower. Optional motor construction shall be provided as listed.

INSULATION: The unit shall be insulated with 1” thick, 3# density duct liner. Insulation shall be in accordance with NFPA 90A and tested to meet UL 181 erosion requirements and UL 723 fire hazard classification. Optional insulation shall be provided as listed.

FILTER SECTION: 1” thick permanent filters shall be mounted in a V-bank filter rack such that filter velocities do not exceed 550 FPM. The filter housing shall have access doors on both sides of the unit for easy access to filters. Optional filters shall be provided as listed.

INTAKE HOOD: The intake weather hood shall be provided with birdscreen mounted to the inlet.

OPTIONAL MOTOR CONTROL CENTER: The optional motor control center shall be internally wired for single point incoming power connection and be contained within the waterproof housing of the unit (or a remote mounted NEMA 1 enclosure), and include a main fusible disconnect switch, magnetic motor starter with overload protection and reset to control the supply fan, interlocking contacts to start fan and open a damper in the intake housing, a fused transformer providing 115 volt control power, and a control wiring strip. All components shall be UL Listed or Classified and wired per the National Electrical Code (NEC). Optional exhaust fan starter shall be provided as listed.

OPTIONAL MOTORIZED DAMPER: The optional motorized damper shall be low leakage, opposed blade type with two position spring return actuator. Optional end switch shall be provided as listed as listed.

DIRECT FIRED GAS BURNER: The direct fired gas unit Model DFG shall be ETL Listed in accordance with ANSI standards Z83.4 and shall be FM and IRI compliant. The unit shall include an adjustable profile plate, observation window, Maxitrol Series 14 discharge temperature control, high and low airflow switches, burner control module, flame rod, spark rod, ignition transformer, high temperature limit switch, pilot solenoid valve, main and secondary solenoid valves and modulating valve. The unit shall include a motor control center with a main fusible disconnect switch, magnetic motor starter with overload protection and reset to control the supply fan, interlocking contacts to start fan and open a damper in the intake housing, a fused transformer providing 115 volt control power, and a control wiring strip. The unit shall be provided with optional controls as listed.

INDIRECT FIRED GAS FURNACE: The indirect fired gas furnace shall be AGA & CGA certified and FM compliant. The unit shall include gas controls with spark pilot, 409 stainless steel heat exchanger, aluminized steel burners, and two stage discharge temperature control. The unit shall be provided with options as listed.

HEATING COILS: The unit shall include a hot water or steam coil as listed. The coil shall be ARI 400 tested with copper tubes and aluminum fins.

ELECTRIC COIL: The unit shall include a UL Listed open coil electric heater with control options as listed. A separate power source shall be provided for the electric heater.

COOLING COILS: The unit shall include a chilled water or Dx coil as listed. The coil shall be ARI 400 tested with copper tubes and aluminum fins.

EVAPORATIVE COOLING: The unit shall include an evaporative cooling module utilizing 12” Munters CELdek media and with microprocessor controls.

OTHER OPTIONS: Other options shall be provided as listed.
