AIR HANDLING AND MAKE-UP AIR UNITS

Air handler motor control center

The motor control center shall be in a weatherproof enclosure, internally pre-wired and ready for a one point incoming power connection (except units with electric coils which shall have separate incoming power connections). Included are a main fusible disconnect switch, magnetic motor starter(s) with overload protection and reset(s) to control supply (and exhaust) fan(s), interlocking contacts to start fan(s) at the same time and open a damper in the intake housing, a fused transformer to provide 115 volt (or 24 volt) control power, and a control wiring strip. Provide optional remote control panel. All components shall be U.L. Listed or Classified, and wired per the National Electrical Code (NEC). For more details, refer to KEES catalogs AHU or DFG.

Direct fired gas make up air unit Model DFG

Provide KEES model DFG direct-fired make-up air unit(s) designed for outdoor (or indoor) application. The unit shall be ETL Listed and assembled, wired and fire tested prior to shipment, with performance as indicated. The burner shall be built in accordance with standard (or FM) (or FM/IRI) (or IRI) requirements. The housing shall be fabricated from heavy-gauged galvanized steel and have gasketed panels providing access to all components. An observation port shall be located to provide a view of the pilot and main flame. The unit shall be supplied with a forward curved, double inlet, statically and dynamically balanced centrifugal fan assembly. The fan shaft shall be ground and polished steel designed for a maximum operating speed not to exceed 75% of its first critical speed. Bearings are heavy duty and prelubricated. V-belt drives are to be sized for 150% of driven horsepower. The entire fan and motor assembly shall be mounted on vibration isolators to prevent noise transmission. The burner shall be a direct gas-fired burner suitable for complete combustion and having a turndown ratio of up to 30:1. Adjustable profile plates shall be installed to control the proper air velocity across the burner. The operation of the burner shall be coordinated through an electronic flame supervision system and shall provide a clean and odorless combustion. The burner assembly and gas manifold shall be completely prepiped and factory tested prior to shipment. All piping and controls shall be enclosed within the galvanized housing of the make-up air unit. Wiring shall be complete and in accordance with NEC with all controls wired to a numbered terminal strip. A circuit diagram shall be located within the control enclosure with markings to match the color coded wiring. All electrical components shall bear the UL label. The control center shall include but not limited to the following components: Maxitrol electronic modulating gas valve, two solenoid safety valves, electronic flame safety module, magnetic motor starter(s), high temperature safety limit, flame rod, electronic ignition pilot, main and pilot regulators, pilot solenoid valve, main and pilot manual gas shut-off valves, airflow switch, and control circuit fusing. Tempered air supply air handler Model MUA

Provide KEES Model MUA filtered roof supply air handler of performance indicated. Unit to be of 18 gauge galvanized steel construction (or gray enamel finish) consisting of forward curved blade DWDI blower having permanently sealed ball bearings, adjustable V-belt drive with cast iron pulleys and rated at not less than 165% of brake horsepower, and motor with sealed ball bearings. All bearings shall have a rating of not less than 200,000 hours. The entire blower and drive assembly is to be mounted on rubber isolation and to have an adjustable motor base. Blower section shall have removable cover for full access to and removal of blower, motor and drive. The filter/damper section is to include 2 inch washable (or throw-away) filters in a V-bank with access doors on each side. Optional damper is to be of opposed blade type with blade edge seals and with damper motor mounted inside of housing. The air intake section shall include bird screen. The heater section shall be as indicated (indirect fired gas, steam or water coils, DX coils, electric coils and evaporative cooling available). All modules shall have Ductmate connectors and shall be factory assembled except as required for shipping and handling. The unit shall be of sufficient length to provide 10’ separation between exhaust fan and air inlet as required by NFPA 96 when mounted on a modular curb cap. Fan control shall be NEMA 1 non-fused non-wired disconnect mounted on fan housing next to motor (or NEMA 3R rain tight non-fused non-wired disconnect mounted on the fan exterior) (or motor control center (refer to separate specification for complete description)). Filters shall be 1 inch cleanable aluminum mesh and operate at a velocity not to exceed 600 F.P.M. and a pressure drop of 0.12 inches of water gauge when clean. The unit shall be of sufficient length to provide 10’ separation between exhaust fan and air inlet as required by NFPA 96 when mounted on a modular curb cap.
